Photo Gallery - Porongurup Wine Festival 2016

Once a year, the Porongurup locality plays host to one of the region's premier wine, food and entertainment events - the Porongurup Wine Festival.

The Mount Barker Tourism Bureau, for the first time, had a stall at the Festival and it was a great success! We plan to be back next year - bigger and better!

Held in March, the event brings together fantastic Porongurup wines, incredible food, together with experts in both those areas and an extravaganza of entertainment that sees around two thousand people from Western Australia and beyond, attend the hosting Porongurup Winery/Vineyard that is rotated to a different venue each year.

2016 saw the event held at Karrivale, so named because of a grove of Karri trees - rare outside their natural Pemberton habitat. With st alls and event structures nestled under one of the Karri tree groves, views to the south of the Porongurup Range's Gibraltar Rock and to the north, a scenic, far stretching visual farmland vista, lipped on the horizon by the expansive and spectacular Stirling Ranges.

This year, nine Wineries/Vineyards - Abbey Creek Vineyard, Castle Rock Estate, Duke's Vineyard, Ironwood Estates, Jingalla Wines, Montefalco Wines, Mount Trio Vineyard, Shepherd's Hut and Zarephath Wines came together for a wine experience that saw all those attending cram the tasting benches, walk away with cherished purchases and a yearning to attend next year's event.

Congratulations once again to the Porongurup Promotions Association (Inc) for another fantastic event! Visit the Porongurup Promotions Association's Website for more information.
